| To
help a player become more accurate with the volley
and avoid swinging and mishits of the ball, have
the player try to catch a ball in a tennis ball
can. With a few practice attempts, surprisingly,
the player will succeed despite the fact that there
is less than a millimeter clearance between the
ball and can.
Hold
a tennis ball can in the left hand and place it
behind the racket strings, dead center. Now the
player is forced to hit the ball out in front
with little backswing. After a few hits, remove
the can and the volley will be much improved.
