We at Van
Der Meer Academy work hard to create a comfortable, secure and
safe living environment for each of our students.
Therefore,
it must be understood that any personal items that are brought
and stored in the Van Der Meer facilities are the responsibility
of the individual who brings them. Further, it should be noted
that upon any departure students should take the necessary steps
to secure any of their personal items that they feel may be at
risk. Items can be boxed and sealed and stored at the Academy
if necessary.
Important
documents like I-20's, airline tickets, large amount of cash,
can be stored temporarily with us in the safe, or personal account.

If
a private phone line is needed in the room at additional cost,
contact Hargray at: 843-686-5000. Also notify the houseparent
about the additional line.
Private bank accounts need to be set up by parents either with
a local bank or the Academy can keep money in the safe.
Conveniences:
Linens are provided (but you can bring your own). Laundry and
stringing services are located on campus.
