Dennis Van der Meer, recognized worldwide for his innovative teaching methods and programs, personally conducts the TennisUniversity I course - a tennis teachers training program which will give you the tools you need to start a full-time or part-time teaching career or simply enhance your present teaching skills. TU I is ideal for high school or college coaches, current instructors, college player or tour players, or any other adult who wants to teach tennis!

This 3 1/2 day course is designed for:

  • new teachers wanting a solid, professional foundation
  • experienced tennis teachers desiring to bring new excitement to their teaching
  • full and part time teachers and volunteers working in club, public and community programs

The curriculum ecompasses the OFFICIAL STANDARD METHOD® which Dennis popularized over 30 years ago. It includes the principles of effective teaching, group and private lessons, lesson and practice organization, progressions for all the basic and advanced strokes, corrective techniques, practice routines, use of spins, ball feeding techniques, drill organization, singles and doubles tactics, practice teaching and USTA programming.
